Robbing Humanity

It's a shame that in today's world where most of us take our basic rights for granted, people in our neighbouring country Iran have to fight for it. Many have even lost their lives, killed by the so called 'law enforcers' who's actual duty is to protect and serve their countrymen. And for what?? For asking their government where their votes went? For questioning their law makers about their right? For wanting a better country? For not taking it lying down? For acting like educated, intelligent citizens??
People are being hauled to prison and tortured, for protesting against the government. The very government who's duty is to ensure the safety of it's citizens, to serve them, to uphold their rights. Not to dominate them like a tyrant.
Reading blogs on torture and killing of the people there makes me angry. Why? Because first and foremost I'm a human and secondly because I'm a citizen of this free world.

When oppression goes way too far, uprising is what happens.
It's happened before, and it will happen again if the so called leaders fail to learn from the past, fail to respect humanity and continue their tyranny. In their quest to 'rule' they forget that they were given the responsibility to 'run & serve'.

When power goes to head, Hitlers are born. And when Hitlers are born, humans rise and take a stand as one.
